What is a Hot Spot?
A Hot Spot is a moist and raw sore on the skin of a dog caused by the constant licking, biting or chewing of an irritation usually from an allergy, flea bite or other insect bite. This is an attempt by the dog to keep the sore clean but in fact just perpetuates a vicious cycle.
How does J & J’s Hot Spot Remedy Work?
Our formula works through the use of an intensive mixture of treatments geared to end the vicious cycle of the Hot Spot and to promote fast healing. Our formula contains 3 botanical oils with 3 different purposes:
1. The antiseptic- This cleans the raw sore and the general area to lessen the chance of infection. A clean sore means that the dog won’t have to lick it. Dogs naturally want to keep their sores clean.
2. The anti-inflammatory- This brings down the swelling and alleviates the itching so that the sore can start healing. No swelling and itching helps the dog to forget that the sore is there also helping to end the vicious cycle.
3. The desiccant- This dries the sore up so that the scabbing process can begin as soon as possible. Dogs have a keen sense of smell and are attracted to the scent of blood and to the rawness of an irritated sore. The faster you dry up the smell of rawness, the quicker the dog forgets about the sore and the faster you are on the road to healing.
The botanical oils in this formula are full strength, natural and have not been modified chemically. The blend is suspended in fruit based oil designed to penetrate and absorb into the skin without leaving an oily or greasy residue. |
